Parents Reading
Parent engagement in reading is key to positively influencing children in their own reading at school and at home. We are currently running our Passport to Reading which actively encourages parents to monitor and keep a track of their children's reading.
We have also held Reading Workshops for parents to inform them of curriculum changes, how to encourage their children to read alongside teaching reading techniques at home to help their children with decoding and understanding.
Parents were also introduced to the new guided reading implemented in school alongside the interventions that were taking place to help boost those readers who were stuggling to maintain the reading age they are expected to be at.
