The Holy Trinity
A religious doctrine is a belief or set of beliefs held and taught by the Church.
The doctrine of the Trinity: There is one God, who us Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
The Trinity, or Holy Trinity, is a way of describing God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. God is described as God the Father because we believe that God is the creator of everything and Lord over all the universe.
God the Son refers to how we believe that God chose to come to earth as a human being in the form of Jesus, the son of Mary. Finally, God the Holy Spirit refers to the power of God in our daily lives. We believe that God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit are three Persons who are one God.
The children of St Peter's have an understanding of 'The Holy Trinity'. This concept can be quite difficult to comprehend so we teach simple, yet effective ways for the children to fully understand.
Lessons are taught throughout the school year to remind the children of the Holy Trinity being God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.
We have an annual Trinity Day and during this we day we reflect on the importance of the Trinity. In 2019, we worked with our School Artist - Gillian Parish to create a stained glass window representing this concept.
