Not only do we believe that reading for pleasure is important for pupils but adults a like. Throughout lockdown our staff have been taking time out to read some of their favourite novels at home. Take a look - can you spot any that you may have read?
Reading training for our staff
Reading is at the heart of our curriculum and we work hard to ensure that this resource is utilised to the maximum to allow our children to explore the greatness of learning and develop the life long skill of reading. However, what we also remember as a school is the importance of showcasing this to the adults in our community and ensure that reading can also be used as a tool to include our teachers and parents in this leatrning journey. We provide annual 'new book' professional development sessions whereby staff are allowed to prouse the new literature non fiction and fiction that they wish and then new purchases are made based on their preferences.
We feel that this is an extremely important time of the year; to ensure our staff feel included and are at the heart of our reading choices.
