    As part of the teaching and leadership team at St Peter’s, I am passionate that the children in our care receive the best possible learning experiences. Being a governor, I feel that I can support the governing body and impart information regarding the school in particular with teaching and learning; working together to achieve the best for the children at St Peter’s.     Began teaching career in 1999 in Tameside and joined St Peter’s school in 2006. When appointed Assistant Headteacher I attended Governor meetings as an observer to gain a greater understanding of the school and how it was led. As Deputy Headteacher, I continued to do this to support the new Headteacher that was appointed in 2012. Subsequently, I was elected as staff governor in 2014. After reconstitution I became a co-opted governor. I was also a staff governor at my previous school, Fairfield Road Primary as well as an active member of the PTA.

  • Sharon Eccles

    Since I began working at St. Peter's I have always had a great passion that we provide our children with the best education and opportunities possible. Being a governor allows me to bring my experience from my day to day role as a teaching to assistant to support the Governing Body in the leadership of the school.

    I joined St. Peter's as a Teaching Assistant in 1998 and throughout this time I have worked in all year groups of the school. I have been a member of the Governing Body for most of this time, attending relevant training sessions to give me a greater understanding of the role of a governor.  I have also led training for teaching assistants across Tameside and other authorities.

    I have had an association with the school since 2008 when my eldest daughter began in nursery, who was subsequently joined by her sister in 2012.

    During this time I have taken a keen interest in their school life and have always volunteered to help whenever the opportunity arose.

    I have been a member of the Fosps team since 2011 and have held the post of secretary for the last 2.

    I joined the school as a midday assistant in 2013 so I get the opportunity to be involved with your children's school journey also.

    As a parent (and a former pupil ) of a child attending St Peter's I have a vested interest in the success of the school. I believe I can make a positive contribution and build on the great successes the school has already made.

    In my opinion, my positive attitude, knowledge and willingness makes me suitable for this role.  I am determined to put forward my concerns as a parent but i am equally determined to find solutions so that the school continues to make positive strides forwards.
