Every year, the children of St Peter's  'dig deeper' into other faiths from around the world;  the children have had the opportunity to explore, discuss and visit different places of worship. It is a great opportunity for pupils to explore inter- faith issues and for our school to build relationships with faith groups in our wider community.

Previously, each class has learnt about a different world faith: Islam, Hinduism, Sikhism, Buddhism and Judaism and we have welcomed expert visitors into our class to take part in food tasting, reflection, art and worship.

This year, Multi-Faith Week will be become part of our Spirtuality Week which will be launched on Monday 8th June 2020. During the week, we will aim to have a secure understanding of Hinduism and the beliefs of the  Hindu Faith, we thought it was important for all the children to look at different aspects of the religion in-depth and share their learning. Below is an example of what each class will focus on.

Reception -  Hindusim at a glance / Rama and Sita.

Year 1 - Hinduism at a glance / Symbols and Meanings

Year 2 - Hinduism at a  glance / Hindu Worship

Year 3 - Hinduism at a  glance /  Hindu deities

Year 4 - Hinduism at a  glance / Importance of Pilgrimage

Year 5 -  Hinduism at a glance / Hinduism and Christianity (similarities and differences)

Year 6 -  Hinduism at a glance / Injustices the faith has faced

The week will conclude with the children presenting their findings to the rest of the school by creating their own Outdoor Reflection Spaces. Parents/Carers, members of the local community and Faith representives will be  invited into school to look at the spaces. We also have lots of exciting surprises planned! In 2021, our Spirituality Week will focus on Judaism.
